Action Alert: Urge Senators to Support Local Meat Processing

The PRIME Act currently making its way through Congress provides flexibility to address the need for more small-scale meat processing. It would allow any state to permit producers to sell meat processed at a custom slaughterhouse within that state.

 

A coalition of farmers and non-profit organizations is sending a letter to all Senators in support of the bill. As of July 20 there are over 100 nonprofits and 500 farms/ranches signed on.

 

To support the bill's passage, call both Senators. Follow up by sending the staffers a copy of the sign-on letter.
